Scitec Nutrition 100% Whey Delite

As you may remember, a few weeks ago I did a fairly glowing review of Scitec Nutrition’s awesome tasting protein supplement Protein Delite. That product was such a hit with me that I ended up finishing off that can in a very short time, and so I decided to give another “Delite” product of theirs a try, which I will tell you about here.

Scitec Nutrition’s 100% Whey Delite is a very nice protein powder. Does it taste quite as good as their Protein Delite? Um, probably not. It’s very close, but I still think there was something about Protein Delite that made it slightly better tasting than this. Maybe the pieces of real fruit? I don’t know. Still, this really is a very tasty protein supplement, and I have no problems getting my two protein drinks a day with this product.  I am not getting sick of the Raspberry Yoghurt taste yet, and don’t think I will.

This product mixes very easily. I often use my blender- and shaker free method of just a glass, a fork and a little milk, and that works beautifully with this powder. With just a little milk added to the powder, I whip it into a slightly rubbery-like dough, and then I add more milk while stirring until I’m done. Then I let it sit for a couple of minutes, give it a last stir, and down it. Quick and easy.

Any downsides to this product? Well, for one, it’s the aspartame. Yes, this product contains aspartame, which I’m really not crazy about. If you’re not a fan of this artificial sweetener, look elsewhere. Also, this product costs a little more than other protein powders. That’s fine by me, as I’d rather have a tasty protein drink than save a few cents a day by drinking something I hated. Still, you could make a nice tasting protein drink with Optimum Nutrition’s Whey Protein and probably save quite a bit of money over time, even though I have to admit that I’m very impressed with the taste of Scitec Nutrition’s proteins and have to give them the nod over Optimum Nutrition in that regard.

There’s no whey protein isolate in this product, only whey protein concentrate. That’s fine by me, I really don’t think isolates are that much better anyway.

Each recommended serving of this product is 27 grams, so my 920 gram container should give me 34 servings.  A serving of Scitec Nutrition 100% Whey Delite provides me with approximately 105 calories, 19 grams of protein, 1.5 grams of fat and 4.5 grams of carbohydrates. Those aren’t the absolute most stellar numbers I’ve seen, but again, that’s probably the way things have to be in order for the product to taste as good as it does. And if that sounds right to you, you should probably give this product a try. Personally, though, I might get another can of Protein Delite instead next time, because I liked the taste of that product even better.
